Senior Programmer

Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions. Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. May analyze and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan computer specifications and layouts, and peripheral equipment modifications.
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
• Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
• Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.
• Decide key devices to be implemented in the system architecture as well as software development tools
• Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
• Determine system performance standards.
• Plan and execute software development schedule.
• Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
• Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.
• Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration.
• Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
• Consult with customers about software system design and maintenance.
• Supervise the work of programmers, technologists and technicians and other engineering and scientific personnel.
• Review project and report to top management.
• Train users to use new or modified equipment/system and junior software engineer.

Job Requirements:

• Degree, either in Electrical/Communication Engineering or Computer Science w/ min 5 years experience in software development industry
• Excellent skill in embedded systems development using C/C++ (w/ min 3 years experience)
• Experience w/ Windows CE development using embedded C/C++
• Microsoft .NET programming (C#, VB .NET, ASP.NET)
• Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 or equivalent
• Reporting Tools (Crystal Report, Active Report, etc)
• UML design tool
• Software quality management
• Good analytical and mathematical skills
• Excellent in problem solving/troubleshooting skills
• Excellent in both written and oral English
